Your Recovery Team - Aldo Morales, MD, FASAM

Dr. Aldo Morales hails from Havana, Cuba. For the past thirty years he has practiced medicine in Palm Beach and Broward counties, promoting the message that addiction is a treatable medical condition rather than a moral failing. His interest in psychopharmacology stems from his undergraduate degree at Rutgers College of Pharmacy in New Jersey. After completing his medical studies abroad he returned to do a four-year residency in Psychiatry at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Dr. Morales has three Board Certifications: Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and is on the faculty at Florida Atlantic University, Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. He has been a consultant to various State agencies as well as Major League Baseball. He is the Medical Director at Retreat at Palm Beach, a large residential treatment center.

He has been a professional musician; when not teaching or practicing medicine he can be found sitting in with his buddies from the South Florida music scene.
